9/25/26 📚✨ Dolly Day Reading! ✨📚 What a fun and exciting day of Dolly Parton inspired reading! Our students enjoyed wonderful stories, games, and music as we celebrated the joy of books and reading. 🎶📖 It was a wonderful opportunity to encourage our students to discover the magic of reading and remind them that books can take us on amazing adventures! Thank you to our amazing teachers, Read-2-Me volunteer readers, and FHS football players for helping us inspire a love of reading in our students. ❤️📚 Families be sure to help students read daily and meet their goals. This message contains several important pieces of information.
EFS students get free breakfast and free lunch. In order to continue these meals free we must have high participation. Encourage your child to eat both meals and even if they pack a lunch from home they can also get a school lunch. Outside restaurant food is not allowed to be brought in by students or parents. Parents are welcome to eat lunch with students occasionally. Sometimes teachers have special lunch plans or altered lunch times due to special events. Please notify your child’s classroom teacher ahead of time if you plan to come for lunch.
Starting Tuesday, all students can choose to get a free healthy snack to take home each day. Those will be in student backpacks if they are bus riders. Be sure to check those backpacks.
Now that the first days of school are over please use the car rider line or bus transportation for arrival and dismissal. All students know where their class is now and for safety, classroom routines, and fostering student independence we ask that you not walk students to class. Staff are always in the hallways to meet and greet students and assist if needed. In the afternoons do not pick students up in the office. Please use the car rider pickup line or bus transportation systems and procedures. We need to maximize the instructional day so that all students get the same opportunity to learn without interruption.
Please use and look at student planners or communication folders in binders daily in addition to the MCS app and Rooms messaging system. If you need help connecting let us know, we are happy to help.
EFS PTO will meet this Tuesday at 5:30 in our Media Center. Please join us. Your input and help are needed to support our school and students.
Individual student picture day is September 16th. Information on package prices and how to order are being sent home, shared on the MCS app EFS livestream, Rooms messaging, our website and Facebook. Student pictures will also be used in the school yearbook even if you don’t make a purchase.
Mark your calendars for Dolly Day on 9-25 (September 25th) as we kick off our school and student reading goals Dolly Parton style. Read, learn, and grow together!
Enjoy the long Labor Day holiday weekend and we will see students back at school by 7:45 for breakfast on Tuesday morning.
