The EFS PTO is still accepting Business Sponsors for our 4th Annual Panther Dash jog-a-thon! The sponsorships allow 100% of all student pledges to go back to our school.

The Book Fair is next week. Here is some information.
It's that time of year. Today we are sending home Pledge packets for our 4th annual Panther Dash Jog-a-thon!
We are still in need of business sponsors and event volunteers. Please contact EFSPTO@Macon.k12.nc.us for more information or how to sign up.
As always, parents are encouraged to come out to support and cheer on our Panthers for the event on Thursday, October 12th, 2023.

Macon County Schools is now accepting lunch applications and meal payments.
If your student attends Cartoogechaye Elementary, East Franklin Elementary, Iotla Valley Elementary, Macon Early College, Macon Middle, Mountain View Intermediate, Nantahala, South Macon, or Union, they will receive meals at no cost as a part of the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2023-2024 school year. We do still encourage meal applications to help your child/children with other eligibilities and to help support the school district.
Macon County Schools is utilizing a new system and parent portal where you can submit meal applications and pay meal fees. Macon County Schools is no longer using lunchapplication.com or K12 Payment Center, and you are now unable to make payments with your old account.
To continue making meal payments, please create a new account at https://www.linqconnect.com
You may also submit meal applications through LINQ Connect for the current school year.
Early Welcome back to students and families😊
We wanted to inform everyone of a few things prior to open house.
EFS will continue to have free breakfast and lunch for our students this year!
We welcome a new SRO, Matt Bowman!
We do not have A STEAM teacher this year. We are grateful we had Mr. Pollack for two years. It was an ESSR funded position. We wish Mr. Pollack all the best in his new role with Cherokee Schools!
We DO have new, smiling teacher faces that we are excited for everyone to meet :)
Our PE classes will be three days per week this year, but will be extended 10 extra minutes. In addition to longer PE times, we have also added additional time to music, art, media and guidance classes.
Haley Bell will continue serving as our school nurse one day per week. While the health department is actively seeking another nurse position for our school, we will continue to have emergency trained teachers and TAs throughout the building. EFS is dedicated to caring for the overall well being of our students and safety is always first.
We will have some items available that is on your child’s classroom supply list on the day of open house.
